How we look after your information

KEEP follows the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This page explains, in plain words, what we keep and why.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and, if you add it, your mobile number and suburb.
• Details about your home that you give us: address, size, rooms and condition.
• Photos you choose to upload.
• The requests you send us and our replies.

Why we collect it

To give you an honest value for your home, suggest upgrades, and — only if you ask — put you in touch with someone who can help.

Your photos

Your photos are only used for your own requests and upgrade ideas. We never publish them, sell them or use them for advertising. They are stored privately and only you and the KEEP team can see them. If you choose to work with an agent we introduce, they can see the photos linked to that request.

Who we share it with

Nobody, unless you ask us to. If you ask to talk to someone, we share what's needed with that one person only.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, we delete your details, homes, photos and requests straight away. Records we must keep by law (for example, of a completed property sale) are kept only as long as the law requires.

Your rights

• See everything we hold: use "Download my data" in your profile.
• Correct it: edit your details at any time.
• Delete it: use "Delete my account" in your profile.
• Complain: you can contact the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
